and i have been giving away all those nice looking golds with "while hexed" stats

lol im sure its just a rumor. you might be able to apply the "15^50" to a weapon, but i doubt you can easily salvage it out of it

The November PC Gamer magazine has a Nightfall Exclusive and it says that inherent mods on weapon will be interchangeable and that when we salvage upgrades from weapons we will be able to choose the upgrade we want salvaged.

PCgamer aparrently mentioned "inscriptions," which are inherent modifiers on a weapon that can be salvaged and interchanged. The point I was trying to make about the assumptions people are making, is that they are assuming that the current inherent mods are going to be salvagable, when PC gamer didn't SAY that. It said inscriptions are going to be salvagable, but never said that inscriptions are the current inherent mods.

For all we know, inscriptions might be the current inherent mods, or they might be an entire new batch of inherents to allow greater customization of a weapon.

Err no need to flame me. I never said that. At least quote properly. I said I thought it would apply to only certain weapons i.e. a special set or only Elonian ones. Please at least quote properly.

Nah my item collection will still be worth I think in the region of 15 million gold as the items in it worth the many millions cannot be bought anymore or are not worth enough to warrent the inherent mods Even if that happens I still have another 10 million + to fall back on I may lose a few million but that means nothing to me I own everything in the game I want and have filled entire accounts with surplus items.... If it does apply to gold items nps, ill just buy nerfed items or get FOW armor for every single char I have

Please quote me properly and your attempted flame failed badly

This is what was said...

Swappable "Inscriptions" and Choosing Mods to Salvage

"Inscriptions" are "inherent bonus modifiers for weapons" and can be transferred among most weapons, or sold for gold. Also, no more salvaging what you don't want, you can choose what component you want to salvage.

There really is no question about this. Inherent bonus modifiers for weapons are the 15^50, 15 -5 energy, 15 -10 armor, 20% (while hexed), 15% (vs. hexed), 15% (while under the effects of an enchantment), 15% (while in a stance). PC Gamer says that these will be "swappable". They also say that components that are salvageable are no longer left to chance. You can now salvage the specific component you want off an item. I do not like the fact that according to PC Gamer you are able to sell the inherent mods for gold, but I suppose that is the way they would like to go with this. I would have made it similar to PvP in that you would have to unlock a specific inherent modifier for a class of weapon in order to swap the mods. It looks like ANet wants to make these inherent mods salvageable.

A 6-28 White Tribal Axe / Tyrian Sickle will be so damn expensive if it ever pops out. Making that into a 15>50 one would be so cool!

EDIT: Omg, I wonder if you'd be able to salvage a 15% uncoditional mod out Those are going to be worth SO much if this is true. 15% uncoditional Crystalline.. Ouch.

Actually Herbalizer I do distinctly remember you saying that you were 100% sure that they would not allow people to salvage perfect dmg mods and whatnot and add them to other items. I am sure alot of people read the same thing we did. No flame intended, but I do remember you saying that. But all that is besides the point. Of course noone truly knows how this will end up and just like you my collection of rares will be hurt by this, but you know what I am not worried in the least. I will actually be a little bit relieved to not have to worry about tirelessly searching for those ULTIMATE items. Now I can make them if I choose to. That is a welcome change in my opinion.

Yep if all this is true you will certainly be able to make those perfect unconditional items. I wish I kept that unconditional long sword I sold last January. If I had kept it I could have a Req 8 15% unconditional Crystalline. That would have been something for sure. Oh well...C'est La Vie

Thanks for clearing that up... I would just like to add how much I think this sucks.

I don't agree with this decision, if indeed the speculation is correct, one bit.

O yeah I did. That was like the first post I made on it when noone knew anything about it..... At the time I didnt believe what the first person to mention it said due to lack of evidence. Since then many people have confirmed what was said in the magazine and since then I changed what I think will happen.

It could apply to every item since prophecies
It could apply to only certain items i.e. special item sets
It could apply to greens only
It could apply to Elonian only items

I still think it wont apply to every single gold item in the game. I entitled to my opinion and I am entitled to not being flamed at by people laughing at how I will lose gold if the inherent mods were to apply to every item.

So, anyone find any of these "Inscriptions" in the preview yet?

Is the new Salvage feature even up yet?

just remember that people will have to equip A LOT of heroes with stuff. demand will take a sudden spike. let's hope the new inscriptions can hold it in check or else prices might even soar.

Hey I hear ya. You know what though Herbal? I really don't think it will be that big of a deal. I mean this isn't going to make me dislike my collection nor will it make me want to quickly sell the items for whatever I can get. I don't think you should worry about it even if it applies to all items or whatnot. The game will still be fun even if we can't flash our rares from time to time. Its not like you will lose any respect for what you do in the community just cause your weapons are no longer one of a kind. I mean hell if anything it just makes the insanely rare items even more rare. For instance now you and I can shoot for the unconditional items out there to salvage for our Dwarven, Crystallines, Tribals, and whatnot. Trust me dude it is not the end of the world and I would think it would be a mistake to quit over this. I have not talked to SPiL about this yet, but I really hope he sticks around.

I am drooling at the thought of salvaging my crap no neg hammer and making a 14% dwarven. No neg inherent would be worth crazy amounts.
